Some sessions you plan down to the last detail. And then there are sessions like this one — where the moment Nell walked in, her energy told you everything. Her style was just the exclamation point. This is a Becoming portrait session, captured right here in our San Antonio studio.
Nell is known as the Glam Therapist — licensed therapist who decided that the healing her clients needed didn’t have to happen only behind closed doors.
So she took it to TikTok. And the world answered. Her mini “therapy-like” sessions have built a massive following of people who finally feel seen, finally feel spoken to — by a woman who is effortlessly, unapologetically herself.

Inside the Studio Session
When her style is a perfect complement to who she is
Inside the studio, Nell brought outfits. Not “clothes” — outfits. Bold patterns, unexpected cuts, textures that had personalities of their own. The kind of wardrobe that demands you meet it halfway with your lighting, your setups, your prompts. There was nothing generic about this session, which meant there was no room for generic photography with Nell. We went non-traditional in every possible way — and loved every second of it.
Our in-studio experience includes professional hair styling and makeup artist services, and she arrived ready to play. The transformation from getting-ready to fully-in-it happened fast — because the makeover isn’t about changing anything. It’s about turning up the volume.
When I asked her what her favorite thing about being her age is, she didn’t miss a beat: “I know who I am.” Five words. Said with the confidence of someone who has done the work, who has held space for others long enough to also hold it for herself.
That’s the kind of clarity you can feel through a lens.

What is a Becoming portrait session?
Becoming is a magazine-style portrait series for everyday women — specifically, women 40 and over who are ready to celebrate themselves not for what they’ve accomplished, not for a title or a role, but for who they are right now and who they are still becoming. I was inspired to do this because I am now in my 40’s and don’t see a lot of women my age being celebrated for who they are (not just their roles or accomplishments). Based in San Antonio and available to clients throughout the Austin area, each session takes place in a fully equipped studio and includes complimentary professional hair styling and makeup artist services, so you can arrive as yourself and leave with magazine style images that stop you in your tracks. Whether you’re marking a milestone birthday, stepping into a new chapter, or simply deciding that right now is the moment to celebrate yourself, Becoming was made for you.
In a world that mainly recognizes women for what they produce, this is a space to simply exist, to be witnessed, and to be beautifully, powerfully documented. At the end of this year, every participant will be featured in the Becoming Magazine — a collective celebration of all the women who stepped in front of this camera and said: I am worth this.
She is exactly who this series was made for. A woman who has chosen herself loudly. Who has built a career helping others see their own worth while quietly, joyfully, building a life that reflects hers. Who showed up to a portrait session with that energy — the kind that fills a room, fills a frame, and reminds you why this work matters.
