There’s an energy I tend to attract a lot with the clients who book with me. They are super cool, down-to-earth, doing fantastic things that genuinely help people.

 

Introduction

I met Irene in San Antonio in 2019 right before our family had to do a military move to Florida. I needed a makeup artist for a client at the time and after a conversation, I knew she’d be a good fit.

We only worked together once before I left, but I knew she would be a great addition to my team.. she’s a makeup artist originally from The Bronx, NY and has a total swagger all her own. In addition to her talent with hair styling and makeup (a photographer’s dream), she’s a sympathetic ear to my clients, connecting with everyone she meets.

Brand update

When she asked if I could update her photos, I absolutely couldn’t wait to bring her vision to life! She said she didn’t like her last set of photos and wanted to show up more online. I hear this a lot from my entrepreneur clients. If we don’t feel like ourselves, we won’t put the photos out there.

The Plan

We started at her home studio and had fun capturing her in the space she works a lot. Shout out to Luna, her pupper, who was so welcoming and kept our spirits up! Luna is also featured below. I made sure to get plenty of business portraits that showed her fun personality, because she’s not just gorgeous, she’s fun to be around.

She also rented a cool, downtown San Antonio studio space that had some fun, cheeky elements and some up-scale sets that would highlight her love of chic style. I wanted to feature both her fun side that her clients love her for, and her chic, New York swagger.

One of my fave moments of the photoshoot was when I was asking her to point her makeup brush towards the camera and she couldn’t stop giggling. I asked what the heck was so funny. She said she felt like Harry Potter  and then proceeded to say, “Lumos!” We both started dying laughing and I’m pleased to announce I captured it! You can’t miss it when you scroll below.

Afterwards, she said she’s never really felt great in pictures until now. I mean, wow. I was so honored, to say the least. She hears from our branding photography clients all the time how their photos changed their outlook on their business, but now she got to experience it for herself. This is is why I do what I do!
