Personal Branding Photoshoot in San Antonio: Bridging Policy, Nature & New Beginnings
As a branding photographer, I often get to work with go-getters who wear many hats—and Jen is a perfect example of that. A government relations specialist and consultant, Jen is deeply rooted in bipartisan policy work. She collaborates with diverse interests to find common ground on the issues that matter most. As if Jen isn’t amazing enough, beyond her impactful career, Jen is also a nature lover, wildlife advocate, and a woman stepping into a new personal chapter.
When Jen reached out for a personal branding session that would reflect all sides of her story, we knew this wouldn’t be your average professional headshot photoshoot. Together, we designed a portrait experience that blended her public-facing presence with her passions and personal life.
Thoughtful Styling & Authentic Representation
After booking, Jen’s journey with us started with a brand questionnaire and then she worked virtually with my trusted stylist, Katie Kabel (@kabelstyles). With four distinct looks, Katie helped to capture the professional polish Jen needs for her consulting work—along with more relaxed, approachable looks for a board she sits on, as well as social media and even online dating.
Jen also had on-camera makeup and hairstyling by Dora Vera, one of my talented artists who always knows how to highlight my clients’ best features while helping ease any pre-session nerves.
I always recommend bringing personal items to style your desk, and Jen brought the goods! She brought wildlife books, binoculars, and artifacts that spoke to her deep connection with nature and public health. These small details helped us visually connect her work in government affairs to her advocacy for people, the environment with her personal flare.
Headshots with Personality—and Purpose
While we did capture some classic, professional headshots, we also went deeper—crafting a series of personal brand images that reflected Jen’s values, her leadership, and her openness to new experiences. She was particularly excited to create a few softer, more personal portraits for stepping back into the dating world. This added a layer of vulnerability and intention to the session.
Rooted in Nature: On Location at Phil Hardberger Park
To complete Jen’s story visually, we finished her branding session at an outdoor location Phil Hardberger Park—one of San Antonio’s most beloved natural spaces. Hiking up to where the park’s SkyWalk and Land Bridge sits was the perfect final background to highlight the types of constructions she’s passionate about and feels most grounded at. It was the perfect setting to reflect her passion for wildlife and and bridging people, policy, and the natural world. Pun intended! It also reflected where she likes to spend her time for the purposes for dating profile pictures – win-win!
