Serendipity in a Brand Photoshoot

Inspiring is the best word to use for Ryn Pitts. She’s the owner of Serendipity Social Co, a San Antonio based Social Media Agency that helps businesses strategize Business to Consumer and Business to Business outreach and capitalize consumer engagement on social media. Serendipity Social specializes in Social Media Marketing + Management, Photography, Videography, Graphic Design, Website Design Development and Management, and Advertising.

I’ve worked a few times with this power house of a woman and she always inspires me with her creativity and quick wit. Ryn has photographed me before as well, and I’m always grateful for her insights and thoughts on business and marketing. And her energy is infectious, we always have fun.

When she’s not busy building her business, she’s giving back with her time and networking in groups like The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), and Babes Support Babes.

Website Photo needs and personalized stock images

I love creating with like-minded women who are open to being in the moment, that’s really where the magic happens, and this photoshoot was no different! It always amazes me when I can look at my San Antonio studio space and see different ideas, lighting, and come up with a completely unique set of storytelling images.

With Ryn, we started with some concepts for her website and social media needs, such as stock looking photos but incorporating her dog, Maria. These images are useful for any entrepreneur to have, as they are multipurpose. The trick with using stock photos is that you need to create your own with a skilled brand photographer you trust in order for them to be consistent with your brand. And people can tell the difference between stock images you found online and the ones you create yourself.

Getting Creative with Storytelling Elements with lighting and props

I took one idea and we created a whole series of photos based on it. In addition to capturing the must haves, like headshots and banner pictures, I love taking ideas and creating different “stories”.

Some stories can be based on:

  • Feeling words (i.e. telling the story of being confident, personable, professional, trustworthy, etc)
  • What your clients can attain by working with you

Ryn’s story was “Climbing the ladder of success”, where we pulled out a ladder and she took steps on it and posed with it. Maria – her dog – was super supportive and stood (and sometimes laid) by her side… except for the occasional sunning moment on the floor where the light was nice and warm!

We ended with a gorgeous, softer look with the backdrop I hand painted. Ryn’s white suit gave the whole setup a gorgeous, luxurious, tone that showed a soft yet powerful set of photos we ended with.

Enjoy the highlights below!
