This studio is the culmination of a dream I’ve had since I started this crazy business. I’ve had many bumps along the way, I’ve doubted myself and doubted I could make something out of nothing. Over the years I’ve actually had people tell me I couldn’t make a living being a photographer. It definitely hurt at first, but that’s because I didn’t know my worth yet. Since then, I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to do, and then I will figure everything else out. For anyone who’s ever gone in a different direction with their lives, or had their first child, started a business, or pretty much anything new in their lives, they know it’s accomplished every day. The only thing that was holding me back was me, and that’s the cold truth.

I’ve doubted that I could be a mom, wife, friend, entrepreneur, and photographer, because they are all distinctively different roles. But every single day, I prove that I can. It is the doing that gives me the confidence to keep doing. But first I had to do, everything else came later. That’s why every single day I wake up and do it again.

The closest thing I can compare my journey of separating the military is jumping off a cliff and making the airplane that will fly me to safety on my way down. Maybe a bit dramatic, but not totally without some truth. I am living my dream and have been organically working towards it for quite sometime now, I just needed to finally jump.
Now, I have the opportunity to change people’s lives through the power of my business. I have only spoken to a few people about my plan for this new space. It’s going to be a game changer for me, and will require lots of energy for networking and putting myself out there, especially to fellow entrepreneurs. More to come on that.
All I will say now to you now is, don’t hide behind your camera or smartphone, and please don’t only have selfies of yourself. Your mother, grandmother, and great grandmother all had their photos professionally done. There is a reason for that. Exist in photos for your children, family, friends and future generations. Come to my studio and I can capture this for you.
